Does it get any better?
This weekend I met up with my family for some good old fashioned fun; swimming beer and mussels. I will save you from the swimming photos but wanted to share a photo representative of a near perfect day.

Pork Roast
Just a few of a pork roast with braised cabbage and apples.

Local Six Forty Seven / Local 647
Local, fresh, friendly and fantastic. How is that for alliteration? Derek and Amanda are not only amazing people with an amazing concept they are fantastic hosts.
They run a farm to fork mobile kitchen focusing on local and sustainable food. Everything they serve on is compostable plates and they even use green cleaning products.
The Washington Post recently did a story on them which you can read here.
I travelled to Marshall Va last week to photograph them in their garden and mobile kitchen. Here are the results.

Artichokes and Asparagus
Sunday was grill day, after building my raised tomato beds I fired up the grill and made some baby ‘chokes and brilliant asparagus for photos and dinner.
These are the results:

Cured Meat and Cappuccino
An unlikely combination I know but here are two photos that I think are great. Done with two lights on white seamless and a 60mm Macro.

Legume
Photographing Legum Bistro in Pittsburgh was a long time coming but it was so worth the wait. Legume is one of the coolest down – to – earth eateries I have been to lately. It came well recommended by friends and it certainly exceeded my expectations.
Owned by husband and wife team Trevitt and Sarah it runs like an ideal small family restaurant, efficient and friendly with a focus on superb and honest food. I could go on and on about how you should eat there. Suffice to say…You need to eat there. Check out www.legumebistro.com

Miami
Meg and I went to Miami for a few days and not only sat in the sun on a great beach for hours on end but also ate some great food at BLT on Ocean Drive and of course some that I made in the room. Check out some of the images below.
