Does it get any better?
This weekend I met up with my family for some good old fashioned fun; swimming beer and mussels. I will save you from the swimming photos but wanted to share a photo representative of a near perfect day.

Cafe Apamate – Chef Ormeachea
A few months ago I had the pleasure of photographing two of Chef Ormeachea’s dishes at Cafe Apamate for Clementines of Spain. The food was great as was the chef. I recommend you check it out. Enjoy the photos!

Andover Maple Festival 2010
Every year in Andover NY the town comes together to celebrate around maple syrup. The Rod and Gun Club serves an amazing pancake breakfast at the school and local artisans and crafts people gather to show and sell their wares. The Lions Club harvests sap from local maples and turns it into syrup at the “Sugar Shack”. I took a few pictures this year and ate myself nearly sick on maple flavoured treats of all varieties.

New Portfolio
I just picked up my new portfolio after having it etched by Frank at Etched in Style. He did great work and I can’t wait to start showing it around. below is a photo.
Local Six Forty Seven Winchester Food Drive
This weekend I went to Winchester Va to photograph (and lend a hand a little) to Derek and Amanda at a Food Bank Drive. The market managed to collect a whole lot of canned goods and the Local Six Forty Seven food cart managed to raise a pretty nice amount of money. Hopefully it will make this winter and upcoming holiday season a little easier on some of the less fortunate.
Below are the photos.
Enjoy!

The Nourishing Well
I have been hearing about this wonderful, vegan, macrobiotic chef for a few years from my friend Julie. “You need to see this stuff…you need to taste this stuff….come over, cook, eat with us”, she would say. Well last week I finally met up with Marilyn Moser – Waxman of The Nourishing Well to photograph and eat some of her vegan fare. First, let me say this: if there had been animal free food that was this tasty and well executed I may very well have stayed a vegetarian. Second, allow me to say this: this food makes you feel GOOD. Third, I can not believe it took me this long to check it out. The tempe rueben sandwich you see here was very very good. Aside from the great food, Marilyn was a fantastic host and we had a blast. Enough of all that. Enjoy the pictures!

Yes. That is Vegan Pumpkin pie and yes, it was amazing.
Co-op Veg, Set Tables, Chicken, Wine and Melon Soup
Last week Jackie and I got together, she set the table and chose the props, I photographed the food. These are the results.

They are coming. Tomatoes.
Our garden is in high gear and the tomatoes are getting bigger every day. I cannot wait to eat these babies! In the meantime, a photo will suffice.
Salad, Steak and Crisp
A few studies of food from this past weekend.
Romaine, Porterhouse and Blueberry Crisp

Local Six Forty Seven / Local 647
Local, fresh, friendly and fantastic. How is that for alliteration? Derek and Amanda are not only amazing people with an amazing concept they are fantastic hosts.
They run a farm to fork mobile kitchen focusing on local and sustainable food. Everything they serve on is compostable plates and they even use green cleaning products.
The Washington Post recently did a story on them which you can read here.
I travelled to Marshall Va last week to photograph them in their garden and mobile kitchen. Here are the results.
