The Nourishing Well
I have been hearing about this wonderful, vegan, macrobiotic chef for a few years from my friend Julie. “You need to see this stuff…you need to taste this stuff….come over, cook, eat with us”, she would say. Well last week I finally met up with Marilyn Moser – Waxman of The Nourishing Well to photograph and eat some of her vegan fare. First, let me say this: if there had been animal free food that was this tasty and well executed I may very well have stayed a vegetarian. Second, allow me to say this: this food makes you feel GOOD. Third, I can not believe it took me this long to check it out. The tempe rueben sandwich you see here was very very good. Aside from the great food, Marilyn was a fantastic host and we had a blast. Enough of all that. Enjoy the pictures!

Local, fresh, friendly and fantastic. How is that for alliteration? Derek and Amanda are not only amazing people with an amazing concept they are fantastic hosts.
They run a farm to fork mobile kitchen focusing on local and sustainable food. Everything they serve on is compostable plates and they even use green cleaning products.
The Washington Post recently did a story on them which you can read here.
I travelled to Marshall Va last week to photograph them in their garden and mobile kitchen. Here are the results.
